are there going to be separate showers, barracks for gays? when i served, males were separated from females. if gays are allowed to serve openly, will there be separate latrines/heads, showers, barracks for gays, ts, tg, bisexuals, straight male and female, lesbians? since straight male and females are separated then that too has to end if gays of all types are allowed to serve. the draft will have to be started up again because many will not be volunteering for military service. don't think the majority of some 300+ million population in the usa is gay or any of the various categories to field a standing military.

Don't be ridiculous. Gays serve now, the only thing that will change is they will be treated like every other soldier is treated, it's called liberty and justice for all, you know, what you are fighting for, we're told, when you join the service. It's time to grow up America. President Obama, when a court gives you what you claim to want, you should accept it. Why make millions of Americans wait for a redneck Congress full of Republicans who don't understand evolution or anything else to grant equal rights ? The courts are a co-equal branch of government, many of our rights have been granted by court decisions. Courts are insulated from the "majority" for a reason -majorities have been, and are now, wrong on issues from time to time. Justice delayed is justice denied.

Aside from maybe in your family (and a few others), I highly doubt that ANYONE considering a career in the military even thinks "But wait. Will I have to serve with one of them?" And you're being ridiculous with the "separate facilities" question. I'm not in the military (nor have I ever been), but I highly doubt that they have "Community Showers". So, I don't think you'd run into any situations where the guy next to you will be admiring your 'junk'. Contrary to what seems to be a popular belief around here, about the only place where gays force themselves on straight people (or even make a concerted effort to hook up with straight people) is in prison. While some may say that the military is like prison, I highly doubt in this case that's accurate. And to be honest, in prison (which is another place that I've never been), it's more likely to be straight men forcing themselves on other men.
